>(4) This isn't BLOB-related, but Chris will soon have a universal >Coco-->PC-bus adapter that will handle up to four of ANY PC card. Wow!This sounds great! Now that RS has discontinued the multipak, there should be a pretty good market for something like this. Just think.Instead of having to tie up two slots for the hard disk and floppy controllers,we can run the combination floppy- hard disk controllers.Maybe even additional memory boards,or even multi-function boards!I've often wondered why nobody ever did this before. This really ought to give the coco a pretty healthy boost over the PC's. Maybe then we can put everything in one body/box and not have all those wires
and cords hanging out all over the desk. It would also be nice if we had a
separate keypad so that we can keep the box out of the way.

Chris did indeed say that his universal PC adapter was aimed at folks who like to repackage their Cocos into PClone cases. I persoanlly know at least two guys who have done this, and at least one of thee systems is working ;-). A major advantage of the PC adapter may be that you can now repackage WITHOUT having to either cram the MPI motherboard into the system or soldering all your paks to the bus. Both are messy, destructive operations that keep all but the [fool]hardiest of hackers from repackaging. That could change. -- Mike Knudsen Bell Labs(AT&T) att!ihlpl!knudsen "Lawyers are like nuclear bombs and PClones. Nobody likes them, but the other guy's got one, so I better get one too."
