From: <RSM105@PSUVM.BITNET> (R. Moore) I'm appealing to the masses for some help! I have a COCO 3 with a J&M dis k controller. The problem I'm experiencing is that I can't get any output on m y Epson RX-80 printer when I connect it to the parallel printer port on the con troller. It works fine when connected to the serial port (with a serial/parale l converter). I checked the schematics for both the controller and the printer , and it seems that perhaps the right signals aren't going to the right place. In any case, I can't make any headway in correcting the situation. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions? Thanks in advance!! ------- RON MOORE (RSM105@PSUVM.BITNET) 16 ATHERTON HALL UNIVERSITY PARK, PA 16802 << IMAGINATION IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN KNOWLEDGE. - A. EINSTEIN >>

I can only suggest what are perhaps the obvious things--you are creating a new bootable disk with the appropriate device driver and descriptor for the printer, right? Also, you should check with the manufacturer of the controller that it will work with the CoCo 3, asking specifically about the parallel port. There may be some problem with the memory-mapped I/O address used for the parallel port. James Jones
