[comp.sys.m6809] CoCo Disks

becker@sumax.UUCP (Ted Becker) (02/13/90)

Here are questions for you CoCo gurus. I have two CoCo's that I intend to
use as dedicated controllers on my model railroad. Current plans are to
load one machine from the floppy and transfer the software to the other via
the serial or cassette port. (I have only one floppy drive and controller.)

First question: Is there software available (cheap I hope) that can write
CoCo compatible disks on the PC. I have both DD and HD drives on my PC and
it would make the software development a lot easier if I could use the cross
compilers on the PC for CoCo development.

Second: Is there a uart card available that can plug into the cartrage slot?
The control interfaces will be RS232 serial and the application is a semi-
realtime opperation that can't tolerate waiting for the CoCo to count on
it's fingers for printer port output.

Thanks in advance.
