I have tried to reply to the person asking about fast 6809 procesors, no luck :-) So ... When I say 3MHz, I mean 3MHz for the E clock time. I have used the Hitachi 63C90E (3MHz). They also have peripherals such as 63B21 (3MHz), yes a different letter for 3MHz! I have used these chips in a home-brew system using a 6551a acia, with NO serial dropouts, (250ns access time, using E or'ed with Q for VMA). Oh, by the way it runs FORTH & really screams.
