My brother is a student in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and he is trying to resurrect a 6809 evaluation and development board which Motorola called "MEK6809D4B." He told me that the major hurdle to getting this board operational is that it has no ROMs. I have contacted Motorola to see if they had the ROMs or, bar- ring that, if they had a copy of the ROM code; the D4 board, however, was apparently introduced in limited numbers long ago enough that they have no extant available information nor components. (Either that, or the people I contacted didn't know the right places to look). I was wondering if anyone reading this newsgroup can help with the search for these ROMs. The schematic designates the three ROMs in question as follows: Schematic Function ROM Identification ROM type Designator U61 Monitor ROM (CUSTOM) (R2 RS232) MCM68A316 U62 Keypad ROM (CUSTOM) (KEYPAD 4K) MCM68A332 U31 Memory-map ROM (CUSTOM) (D4MAP00) MCM68A316 I gather that the ROM Identification also appears on the ROMs themselves; this is how they were identified on the schematic. Motorola also published a manual for the D4 board which was called the "D4BUG Software Reference Manual." The ROM contents listing is available therein. Does anyone know where we can locate the code for these ROMs? We could either copy existing ROMs or, if someone has a listing of the ROM contents, he could hand-enter them into an EPROM burner. (It would take a lot of time--but he's got the time to burn, and it would keep him off the streets :-) ). Please respond via e-mail--this is a newsgroup to which I do not ordinarily subscribe. Thanks in advance. --Dave -- UUCP: ...seismo!uwvax!astroatc!norvax!beams US Mail: David Beams / Norland Corporation / Fort Atkinson, WI 53538-8999 Registered Professional Thaumaturgist -- Hours by Appointment Only
