[comp.sys.m6809] Motorola 6800 / 6802

soules@ecs.umass.edu (08/14/90)

Greetings from Massachusetts.

I'm in need of some recommendations in regards to resources
available for the Motorola 6800 family. That's right, 6800.
(I'm actually using the 6802.)

I recently discovered a very nice book by Alan Clements of
Teesside Polytechnic in England: _Microcumputer Design and
Construction_, 1982, Prentice Hall. The problem is that it is
out of print.

Do you know of any other books with a bias towards electronics,
computer design, device charactersitics/compatibility?

Also, can you recommend a superior book for 6800 Assembly Language
Programming?

Cheers, Timothy

I always liked:

Title 6800 Assembly Language Programming
Author Lance Leventhal
Publisher	Osborne/McGraw-Hill
Copyright	1978
ISBN 0-931988-12-8

But I suspect you'll find that it is out of print. But it is worth looking for.

You might also try:

Title How to Program and Interface the 6800
Author Andrew C. Staugaard, Jr.
Publisher	Howard W. Sams & Co., Inc.
Copyright	1980
ISBN 0-672-21684-1

I would also contact Motorola, as they still had their
	M6800 Programming Reference Manual
		 M68PRM(D)
and
	Programming the 6800 Microprocessor
		HB211
a couple of years ago, and may have some copies in a dusty corner somewhere.

Good Luck.
