[comp.sys.m6809] CoCo III Tech Info

crichmon@digi.lonestar.org (Charles Richmond) (03/22/91)

I have a Radio Shack Color Computer III with standard memory
(128k). I'm looking for some books that will tell me what
the guts are like. I would like a memory map and the function
and location of all the hardware ports and registers. Then I
can write machine language programs to exercise the CoCo.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

I would recommend two books:

1. Tandy Service Manual for the Color Computer 3

2. Assembly Language Programming for the Color Computer
plus the Addendum for the Color Computer 3
   by Laurence Tepolt

The Service Manual can be special ordered from Radio Shack
or both books may be purchased from Microcom Software,
1387 Brighton Henrietta Townline Road, Rochester, NY 14623,
1-800-654-5244 or 716-292-1786.

Charles,

Radio Shack does sell a COCO III technical manual which would provide you with
all the addresses and information you would ever need. I have a copy of it and
I think it was around $30 Cdn when I first got it. You may have to order it from
Tandy's National parts depot since most stores will not order COCO stuff for you
these days.

Hope this helps,
