[comp.sys.tandy] Using an 'IBM' type keyboard with a Tandy 1000

root@hobbes.UUCP (02/26/87)

Does anyone have any experience with replacing the obnoxious
T-1000 keyboard with one of the 'IBM' type keyboards? The reason,
of course, is to allow software to run which expects 'IBM' keyboard
layout and key-presses. i.e. WordPerfect with ctrl/shift/alt-Fx,
Flight simulator/Jet which expect a usable keypad, ad nausium.

The connector looks the same (both are round :-), but I don't want to
just plug an 'IBM' keyboard in... The local RS computer centers (all 3)
don't have any idea about anything - "why would you *want* to replace the
keyboard?", "We'll sell you a 1200 or a 2000..."

Mail prefered, I'll sumarize.
