[comp.sys.tandy] Converting Basic programs from Model II to 16/6000

paul@devon.UUCP (03/23/87)

I have some programs that run under Model II Basic that I'd like to
copy up to XENIX on a 16/6000 and run. I am able to copy the programs
to XENIX without any trouble, but they will not run under MBASIC
because the programs are written so that the lines are squeezed as
tightly together as possible. I.E., the lines look like this:

	10 ONERRORGOTO30:DEFINTA-Z:GOSUB4000

instead of being spaced out (10 ON ERROR GOTO 30:DEFINT A-Z:GOSUB 4000)
as MBASIC *requires*.

There are two solutions to my problem, as I see it. The first it to
obtain a utility that will rewrite the basic program files with spaces
inserted where required. The other is to install an "enhancement" to
the "stock" Mbasic (ver 1.2) which will allow the squeezed-up programs
to execute as-is.

Can anyone help me?
