[] Someone whom I help will soon switch to using an MS-DOS machine. She has used her Model II since it came out, which was when, 1976? Anyway, I intend to get Kermit to transfer files between the Model II and the PC. I have noticed that Scripsit on the Model II stores documents in a single file called DOCUMENT/CTL. Then documents can have insanely long names with absurd characters in them. Is this true? I would transfer the file called DOCUMENT/CTL and whatever other files are needed (hopefully none) and do the conversion of file into documents on the PC. Therefore, I need the format of this clumsy file called DOCUMENT/CTL. Anyone? -- Tom Reingold INTERNET: tr@bellcore.com UUCP: ..!decvax!ucbvax!ulysses!bellcore!tr ihnp4!mhuxt/

DOCUMENT/CTL holds all individual documents. They are not as continous files inside of DOCUMENT/CTL, but are fragmented as you would expect to find files fragmented on a disk. In short, DOCUMENT/CTL acts like a file system. Don't bother transfering it to another machine. Tony Holden P.S. Yes I am sure. I had to support it.
