[comp.sys.tandy] Disk upgrade for 6000

cmo@xanth.UUCP (Dr. Mike Overstreet) (06/24/87)

I have an old Tandy 16b upgraded to a 6000. Not surprisingly, the
15 meg disk (which seemed infinite in size 4 years ago) is not in-
adequate. Does anyone have suggestions on how I can get additional
storage capacity inexpensively? In particular, can I replace the
internal 15 meg drive with some newer, say 40 meg drive?

Any suggestions, words of wisdom, or experiences in this area will
be appreciated.

You can add any st506 compatible hard drive. The Micropolis
70 meg is the one Tandy uses, as well as the 35 Meg q540 from Quantum.
But as long as the step rate is not outrageously slow (Old DEC/Seagate
drives) you can use anything you like. I'm using an Q540 and a Seagate225.
E-mail or call me if you need help connecting the cables.

			You must be the precipitate!
