Hello again! We've made a somewhat-corporate decision here ;-) and will be releasing most of our Tandy Model IV software for public consumption within the next few days. This will include *source code* for many of our former products! Included in this batch will be our ERACS V8 host/bbs system, DTERM PLUS (intelligent terminal emulation including ANSI mode), many utilities, and several other small programs. The host/bbs system alone is 6 (!) standard TRS-80 floppy disks, and comes in custom-unpackable archives (our archive unpacker is also on the system for your use, of course). Most of this software runs under TRSDOS 6.x for the Model IV. We had originally intended to provide anonymous uucp access to these files, however, I've discovered that this is going to take a while longer to implement than we'd originally anticipated. Thus, the entire contents of the archives will be made available to 'ddsw1' contributors, effective immediately. By having you dial direct for these files, and sign onto the system, we eliminate the server problems -- and allow those who do not have UNIX systems to get the files via ordinary XMODEM or other protocol (we support Xmodem, Ymodem, Zmodem, and Kermit). The code which you will find here is *not* public domain, but you are free to use it for your own purposes. Others who want copies should obtain them directly from us at 'ddsw1'. Regrettably, we cannot support this software, as our last Model IV is being sold.... (sob sob). Of course, files which did not originate here (there are several in our old download library) may have their own conditions for redistribution (most are public domain). Most of the assembly-language files are in 'ZEUS' format. Be aware of this if you are going to try to use the files as downloaded -- you will need the 'ZEUS' assembler, by Cosmopoliton Electronics, to load these (are they still in business?) Contributor access is currently $6/month, flat rate, with a 3 month minimum and provides essentially unlimited access to our Unix system (Usenet and online games are also included, as is archive access). We are reachable via Pc-Persuit. To register for access, please call (312) 566-8911 or (312) 566-8912 with your modem, from 300-2400 baud, and sign on as 'new'. Voice inquiries are welcome at (312) 566-8910 from 9 AM to 10 PM CST daily. We accept Visa/Mc. -- Karl Denninger UUCP : ...ihnp4!ddsw1!karl Macro Computer Solutions Dial : +1 (312) 566-8909 (300-1200) "Quality solutions at a fair price" Voice: +1 (312) 566-8910 (24 hrs)
