[comp.sys.tandy] Exponential function in TRS-80 Mode

You might want to try replacing the '[' character with an
up arrow (can't show that on notes!). I seem to remember
that as the replacement character.

The "open bracket" [ is the way that most printers print the standard
"up arrow" of the TRS-80. (I'm surprised you haven't read about it,
it is very well documented; practically every issue of 80 Microcomputing
mentioned it.) The up-arrow is an exponentiation function -- not EXP(x),
which is e^x -- and should be replaced with whatever your computer uses
for "x to the yth power".

(The reason for the open bracket is that the TRS-80 used ASCII codes 91-
94 for the four arrows. On most printers, these are used for brackets,
backslash and other bizarre symbols.)
