Wonder of wonders ( Doug will roll over at his terminal )
Yes folks, IT has happened. What? I'm sure we all fear this the most
but some day it had to happen (8-]), they are playing Kate Bush on
a common ( italics there folks ) radio station.
Yes its one of those trashy, I-play-all-those-real-rock-n-roll-
classics-plus-those-great-new-songs-like-stuff-by-Motley-Crue stations.
Why? Only a higher authority could answer that. Now dont get me wrong,
The merits of Kate Bush's music are many, and rightly deserved. But,
lets face it things have their place. Renoir in a subway, or tuna fish
sandwich on sterling, as you wish, these things are just apples and oranges.
I know, all you KB fans are cringing at the thought of a 'regular'
radio station ( name withheld for 'those' reasons, Hint: Sacramento CA
area, only real big rock station ) playing the divine symphony before deaf
ears, and all you KB haters ( yes Doug there is a santa claus ) are screaming
'they're playing THAT *&#! again'. My question is why make Khadafi have tea
with Barry Goldwater? I don't think it is benefiting either groups,love or
hate it.
But wait, ( KB fans wake up ) it gets worse... They started playing
KB 'Running up that hill' as a rate-a-record song! ( somebody send a para-
medic to MIT and hurry 8-> ) The DJ said that they really like her 'over
the water' gave little else as background, played the song, and then proceded
to accept calls as to whether people want to hear more of her stuff or not...
I'm not positive as to the outcome ( I think it was marginally NO ) but to
real KB fans this should be an outrage. Now, I've heard KB on our local college
radio station and on someother 'progressive' stations but Boy, some people...
Has anyone else heard any of the sacred tunes woft their way through
less than holy mediums?..... Are any of you ROCKERS out there outraged by this
infringement of mamby-pamby music replacing your favorite 'Priest headbangers?
For God's sake when will these atrocities ( or this article) end.
