I have a DMP-130 printer that I'm trying to use as a
scanner. My problem is I need for it to step through each
dot position without printing anything. The sequence is as
follows:
1. position the print head on a dot
2. check the signal from the scanner and file it.
3. move the head to the next dot position
4. goto 1
What I am finding is that the printer will not move the head
unless there is something to print. I'm using IBM mode (ESC !)
and the sequence, 27 100 n1 n2 (page 71 manual) to (try &) step
through the 1/120" dot positions. I need to get the printer
buffer to dump after each step. Have tried switching fonts,
and anything else that says the buffer *should* clear, but
it dosn't seem to work. Any ideas/suggestions??? No, I
can't afford to buy another printer. ;-)
