[comp.sys.tandy] Is the Tandy DVI worth anything?

ditto@cbmvax.UUCP (Michael "Ford" Ditto) (09/28/88)

I bought one last night and tried it out with my m100. It doesn't do
anything besides say "Please wait!" when the 100 is plugged in. When
the 100 isn't attached, it gets as far as asking for the system disk
and says "Now, getting ready" (or something like that).

I'll be yelling at R/S today I suppose; hopfully they will try it
with their 102 to find out if it's defective. Mine was the last
one in the store where I bought it.

Yours *was* the last one in the whole country. It was the same unit
that was used to photograph for the Radio Shack Sales Flyer.

No it's probably fine. But you have to have them hooked up, *then*
turn the DVI and the 100 on. Insert the system disk and then press
the reset button on the 100 (and kiss any files in the 100 goodbye!)

You also need at least 16k in the 100 as the Disk BASIC plus the
normal system overhead uses up all but a few bytes of the highest
8k.

Finally, if you want to disconnect the DVI, you'll have to do the
same "power on while holding the rest switch" bit to clear out
Disk Basic (and anything else in menmory) as Disk Basic will crash
the 100 if the DVI isn't attached.
