Hi again. Thanks for all those who replied to my query about the COMMAND.COM problems. No, I still don't have them worked out yet, but I have another possible solution. In talking to the computer guy at my local Radio Shack, I was told that MS-DOS 3.2 (or version 3.anything) will NOT work properly using the ROM version 1.0. Since this is what I have, I was told to upgrade. Now, I have no qualms about upgrading, as I have been meaning to do it for some time, but I was curious about a couple things: 1) Is this true? Version 3 MSDOS will not work correctly using the 1.0 Tandy ROMs? ** 2) CAN SOME ONE SEND ME (if by mail, I'll re-embuserse for postage, and handling) a copy of the PCM MAGAZINE ARTICLE (a couple months back) about how to do this upgrade yourself? (I don't want to pay the $65 for the Tandy folks to do what I can do myself). 3) I was also told that third party hard drives don't work correctly with version 1.0 ROM's. To what extent is this true (mine's a Hard Drive Specialist, 20Meg on a card)? 4) Finally, I have the 286 Express in the machine. I was told that this, combined with the 3.0DOS and 1.0ROM's will also not work correctly. To what extent is this true? I guess then, I should say that it's not a question of whether or not to get the ROM's - I'm going to, but it is that I want more information about the discrepencies between versions of DOS, ROM, etc. Once again - can some one PLEASE send me a copy of the article?
