I was wondering what the latest word was on the release of the Xenix 3.2 Development System? I know that support and committment to the 6000 is making its way (quickly?) down the totem pole, but I have heard rumors now and again that suggest they still might release the 3.2 DS for interested parties. Does anyone know anything about this? Also, what is the status of Tandy's MMU for the 6000? What will theirs cost? Any input would greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Mark. -- Mark J. <> The latest information I have is that it is in a final QA stage (someone looking at factory production samples) and if approved it could be available in 3-6 weeks. Last price that I heard was right around $250. <This information is provided by an individual and is not nor should be construed as being provided by Radio Shack or Tandy Corp. The MMU has been shipping for about a month. The price is about 325.00 if you have a working 6000 CPU board to trade. The service center orders, tests, and installs it. Additional RAM boards are ordered seperatly. > Mark J. 1. I know of one site with the MMU installed and they are ecstatic. They have an accounting application that makes system response poor without the MMU and they are happy enough with the MMU and 3MB of RAM that they have delayed conversion to another system for another year (they bought the clone MMU, not the RS product; the clone producer has a 4MB DRAM board). 2. The 3.2 development system is apprently awaiting a decision concerning release. I know of several sites running it and one of them (a commercial installation) reported that there have not been changes for a while now. It will be interesting to see if they do release it as Kent Roberts promised to deliver it two years ago at Tangent and it was also promised at last year's August manager's meeting. On the other hand, it apprently includes only the ability to handle longnames as a major improvement, from what I hear.
