[comp.sys.tandy] ramchecker

********** HELP!!! ******************8

I have a TRS 1000 ex computer with a supposed video ram problem.

When I run programs like lotus which uses a lot of video ram the
screen flickers. This only happen with cursor movement.

This drives me nuts and I thought that somebody out there can lend
me a hand. I guess what I need is a ramchecker program that will
isolate the bad chip so that I can replace it. This is certainly
a lot cheaper than paying the TRS man $65 plus parts.

I would appreciate any PD programs that would do this.

please help.

I'm no 1000 expert (or lotus expert) but ...

I'd be skeptical of that diagnosis. Has it always done that or just
started? Does another 1000 EX do the same thing? Surely (don't call
me shirley), everyone has heard of screen snow, is that what you got?
Maybe lotus is using blanking before moving the cursor?

I don't know but I think bad video ram would look a lot different.
