Our site (and several neighboring) all run notes, not news. Subsequently, long subject lines like the title for the trs-link postings gets cropped to: /*Written 11:09 pm Jul 9, 1989 by pacsbb.UUCP!lgarcia in comp.sys.tandy */ /* ---------- "TRS-Link, issue #21, July 1989, par" ---------- */ 12345678901234567890123456789012345 This makes it difficult to determine which part is which, or even if we got all the parts. In the case of TRS-Link 21, part 1 arrived second (had the 'begin' stamp), part 5 last and who knows about which pieces are part 2, 3 & 4. There may have been more parts than five. But we can't tell from the titles since they are cropped. (In future, please make sure titles with critical information at the end fit in to 35 characters to save endless headaches. Thanks.) Anyway after going through all possible permeutations of placement of the five pieces received, the arc will still not pass a 't' check. Various complaints about values out of range, bad crc, corrupted compression, etc result. The fewest errors (and the most files reporting 'ok') resulted by putting the files together in the order 2 1 3 4 5 (numbered as received at this site.) Naturally I can't extract more than eight or nine files before arc bombs off. If anyone has actually gotten this thing together, please send me the correct file order by posting the first few lines of each uuencode from each file in the necessary order. A 'wc' of each may be helpful too in case there has been some other corruption. Thanks. "Thank you, Uh Clem."
