<> B>Also, does anybody know if the hard card and flop drives for the 1000A B>are compatible with any of the current 1000 offerings? Primarily the B>1000TL. The TL will only hold one 5.25" drive internally, but the floppy drive interface in the TL/SL is exactly the same as what was on the 1000, the Model 4, and on and on. The mini-floppy drive manufacturers got their act together (interface-wise) years before IBM or anyone else could goof up the standards. Tandys only odd-ball drive interface was on the Model I, which used the side select as an additional drive select. Only thing you have to look at is option settings, but if you got the drive to work in a IBM-PC (or clone) environment once, it will work in any other IBM-PC (or clone). As to the hard drive, the SL/TL change the drive interrupt back to IRQ 5 (like an IBM-PC), but you can put it back to IRQ 2 (like the 1000/1000A) if you happen to have a hard card that expects that setting. The bottom line is that something has to be really odd about your drives to prevent them from working in a SL/TL. <This information is provided by an individual and is not nor should be construed as being provided by Radio Shack or Tandy Corp.
