Has anyone installed a 1.2 MB floppy drive into a Tandy 1000 SX? I need to know if it is supported by the hardware, and if so what "software switches" must be set to use it. Thanks, Darren File

Sorry, but the 1000 family are not AT-compatible (nor were they intended), and therefore do not have the dual-speed (actually three data rates) floppy disk controller required to work with 1.2 Meg (500 Kbit/sec, 360 RPM) and the older 360K capacity (250 Kbit/sec, 300 RPM or the low cap emulation speed on a 1.2 meg drive of 300 Kbit/sec, 360 RPM) drives. In addition, 1.44 Meg 3.5" drives cannot be used, although these will format and work in the 720K mode (same rotational speed as 1.44 Meg). <This information is provided by an individual and is not nor should be construed as being provided by Radio Shack or Tandy Corp.
