B>Recently in talking to a friend who runs a public access unit site I was
B>informed that Tandy has sold out it's remaining stock of 6000's to a
B>Home Shopping Network and there will be no support...
B>Anybody else heard this nasty one?

Some 6000 HDs were offered on Home Shopping Network just over a month ago.
The scuttle at the Dallas swap-meet was that those machines were "lost"
for a couple of months last summer. They were eventually found in two
trailers that had been sitting in the Texas sun all that time. The
word used for their functionality after that ordeal was "flakey".

However, apparently some third-party is providing support for those
machines (perhaps the people who bought them who then resold them to HSN.)
Radio Shack stores were told not to honor the warranty on these systems
and that the boxes had been marked to indicate they came from HSN.

B>He ordered the 2 meg expansion boards and of the 5 he got 1 that worked.

Whose 2 Meg board? R/S certainly hasn't gotten their socks on the right
feet long enough to produce one (can't find the segment registers :-( ).

<My rumors and opinions, and certainly not those of my segmented employer.>
