[comp.sys.tandy] Tandy Plug 'n Power

bobp@cbnewsl.ATT.COM (robert.phillips) (07/31/89)

Is there anyone out there familiar with the Tandy Plug 'n Power?
This neat device plugs into the cassette port of a model I/III/IV
and allows one to control appliances throughout the house. The
hitch is that one needs receiver modules on the appliances.

I acquired this with some hardware and software I bought a while ago.
I know that home control systems are available, and I'm hoping that someone
will be able to direct me to a set of receiver modules that are compatible
with this thing.

I realize that I should (from a time and effort standpoint) probably just
buy a new control system if I REALLY want one, but the prospect of actually
doing something useful with the Model I I have lying around is SO appealing....

Thanks in advance,
Rob Phillips

P.S. to Steve Henning, if you are out there
The model IV is working out really well. I still haven't sorted through
EVERYTHING, but I'm moving along. Thanks a million.

Very. I use a HomeMinder system here at the home.

No problem - stop by your Shack and pick up as many Plug'n'Power modules as
your system will support. You can also use X-10 and Sears modules, and
they're close to the same price.
