[comp.sys.tandy] CP/M and the Model III

wilso_d@cs.odu.edu (DeWitte Wilson) (08/16/89)

Hi. I posted a similar message to comp.os.cpm a while back, but no
replies so I thought I would try here.

I have a disk that somehow I have messed up. It is CP/M for the Model II
from ATON International -
It boots like this :
'63.00 K RADIO SHACK MODEL II CP/M VERSION 2.23F'
'COPYRIGHT (C) 1981, 1982 BY ATON INTERNATIONAL, INC.'
'COPYRIGHT (C) 1979 BY DIGITAL RESEARCH, INC.'
-----
The person I bought it from never had any problems with it, and I was
dumb enough not to make a backup before I started educationally
testing (playing) with it. Now it boots up and gets to the A> prompt,
but doesn't let me type anything. I must have somehow changed the
BDOS file to not allow input. This wouldn't be so crucial, but this
is also the hard disk boot disk, so I'm locked out of the hard disk (a
Corvus 20 meg). I also have the original ATON disk, but it doesn't
boot at all.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. If there were a way to get the
CLINK file (I think this is what drives the corvus) off of that disk
to a good disk, I might be able to still talk to the hard disk.

Thanks,
...dewitte

PS - This is not a hardware problem, my other Model II disks work
fine, I just don't have a good version of the ATON disk. Another idea
might be - is there any way to copy the file off of this disk over to
a Pickles & Trout disk? (CP/M is CP/M isn't it?)
