I just obtained a model III. Presuming I can find a OS disk, is (was) there a terminal emulation program for the device? If you could reply by email, I would appreciate it. I doubt that there are many people interested in Model III's anymore. Maybe tomorrow I will get a buggy whip. rkw

If you get in touch with Misosys (1-800-MISOSYS for their order line [NOT Tech Support!]), they can fit you out with the latest version of LDOS 5.3 for the Model III. And yes, there are terminal programs for the Mod 3 -- some of the best being PD/Shareware. |George Madison, a/k/a George The Bear Cub, a/k/a Furr ** BEAR POWER **| |gmadison@pnet02.gryphon.com 8-{)> ames!elroy!gryphon!pnet02!gmadison| |GEnie: GEORGE.M Arctophiles & Barbophiles Unite! I'm sure there was/is a program of some sort; I inherited a modem from my uncle, who used it with a Model III before getting a 1000. No idea if there's any real (ie vt100, etc) emulation or just dumb terminal stuff. Next time i'm in their office I'll check. Speaking of Model IIIs, if anyone has a disk drive (floppy) controller they don't want/need for one, let me know. I don't really care much; the computer is in my basement gathering dust, and probably would even if it could find its disk drives (and I hadn't f***ed up the connecting cable to the card). Consequentally, I'm not really willing to pay much more than postage. I welcome also any information on parts availability/sources other than RS for these; believe it or not, my father uses one to run his business and it's getting tired. There is (was) a PD terminal emulator called XTerm which worked very well. It supports Xmodem transfers, auto dialing, and various other goodies. I have a copy of it. If interested send me email with a way to reach you. -- Gerry Savard gsavard@cvman.prime.com
