[comp.sys.tandy] Disabling the built in internal video in TANDY 1000 TX

brk102@leah.Albany.Edu (brk102) (10/18/89)

I need some help. I purchased an ATI VGA Wonder graphics card and installed it
into my Tandy 1000 TX. Software that allows you to select what video card to
use work fine, but software that automatically recognizes that the computer is
a TANDY, or thinks that the internal video is still enabled, do not work. For
example, I borrowed a game from a friend called INDIANA JONES and the last
CRUSADE. It allows a parameter to tell the program which graphics card to use.
At the dos prompt, I type INDY3 EGA, the program works perfect. But if I allow
the game to figure out for itself what graphics to use, it choses the built in
video and I get grabage on the screen. Has anyone else had a similar problem?
What did you do to solve your problem? I tried different combinations of the
interrupt switches on the motherboard, but did not seem to work, so I just have
all 4 dip switches set to the ON position. ( Maybe I missed a combination??? )
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
