Should I use XENIX? As someone who worked on the national support lines let me tell you to burn any *16 programs and 4.1. Any TRSDOS programs that ran in on the 68000 were pure garbage. Use the regular Scripsit or if you're up for some slow going use the Xenix version. IMHO, regular Scripsit under TRSDOS, not TRSDOS 4.1. -- Tony Holden "My wife likes it tony@attctc.dallas.tx.us long and straight" heard at the golf course.

I agree with the statement about the TRSDOS-16 mode, BUT SCRIPSIT-16 RAN UNDER XENIX, not under TRSDOS-16. Don't burn it! It's a pretty good word processor. Yeah, it can't do the kinds of things that are the norm in word processors today, but for "no-fancy stuff" it will be fine. If you decide to stick with SCRIPSIT-HD, locate TRSDOS 4.2.x. It will be a lot more reliable than 4.1. Be sure you get the 4.2.x version that is correct for the hard disk you own. Back then the versions were matched to specific hardware. Just run it in Z80 mode, don't bother with the TRSDOS-16 subsystem (TRSDOS-II is still running!) <My opinion, and not that of the Army who preferred TRSDOS-16 over XENIX because XENIX took too long to boot after a power failure (it ran fsck), whereas TRSDOS-16 let them use their clobbered ISAM files immediately.> "Thank you, Uh Clem."
