(Organization): Center for Anachronistic Computing Hardware Emergencies (CACHE) Help! Does anyone here know of a utility on either a PC system or a TRS I/III system that will enable me to transfer ASCII files to a PC? Unfortunately, my system is primarily homebrew hardware, and will not support a modem... thus I need to somehow get the actual disks to be readable... My TRS is a Mod I, 1 DSDD drive. I also have access to lots of kinds of PCs. On the other hand, if anyone has an old TRS with a modem that they would like to get rid of, please send me the price. I'm not exceptionally wealthy, but would be willing to make some kind of investment here. Radio Shack sells a program that will read ASCII or Scripsit files from a Model I disk using a PC. (Or...I have a full blown Model I system with expansion interface and 2 disk drives that has a RS232 port that will do the trick for cheap (real cheap)). . . . .
