[comp.sys.tandy] Tandy PDD info request

zlraa@iceman.jcu.oz (Ross Alford) (12/30/89)

I've just worked out how to post an original message, so here goes:

I'm looking for a description of the command language, operating system,
or whatever you'd like to call it that's built into the Tandy Portable
Disk Drive. I want to use mine with machines other than the M100/102,
specifically a NEC8401 and a PClone. I have done some snooping on the
serial line, and suspect that given time I'll be able to work out what's
happening, but it is complex and cryptic enough that that will take some
time. Being in Northern Australia, I do not have access to Compuserve
or other commercial information utilities, so can't try there. Surely
someone out there has seen this info. All responses will be very
gratefully received.

Thanks in Advance,
Ross Alford

I would like the same information as Ross about the operating system of the PDD.Communication software, with cables, is available from Traveling Software
(18702 North Creek Parkway, Bothell, Washington 98011, USA, 1-800-343-8080)
called "Lapdos II" at $129.95 (Last I heard). This is advertised to handle PC
to M100/M200 and PC to PDD with some sophistication. Being cheap and a " I'd
rather do it myself!" kind a guy, I would rather learn the protocol and write
some code. If anyone can help, my thanks too>
