With the 5.1.13 driver, now being shipped (according to word of mouth - my copy hasn't arrived yet) the Arnet boards seem to be coexisting better with uucp and TB+ modems. I am now consistently running between 1000 and 1600 bytes/sec (using "uutraf") in my connections to UUNET and another 386 XENIX system that polls me at 19.2K bps. (I'm using the 5.1.12 beta drivers, 5.1.13 fixes a bug involving failure to transmit a BREAK). The only problem remaining is that LCK..tty2[cd] files are still occasionally left when a process terminates abnormally. This occurs both for uucico and for ordinary users. These occur once in a few days at this point. If anyone is interested I have a message available which includes the ATN? output from my modem (ROM level 5.0), /etc/gettydefs, /usr/lib/uucp/Dialers entries, etc. Michael L.
