I'm trying to perform a data conversion between an old TRS-80 model II and an IBM AT. Ideally, I'd like to impliment a serial link between the two machines and zip the data accross the link. I'm running into problems wiring the cable however. I tried a minimal connection of just: rx tx tx rx gnd gnd But I something seems awry. I get garbage ALL the time. I.E they're talking but not the same language. I've tried all baud rates from 300-9600 with no sucess. Can someone give me pinouts for a Mod II to AT NULL modem cable? Thanks! -- Michael R. I have just used it to port applications from the model II to a pc or at system. Basically I used a 25pin strait thru cable with nul modem adapter. Sorry I don't know the pin out, but it is a standard nul modem box (looks like a gender changer). Basically I use the host mode on the model II, and then connect to the model II thru the use of cu() program on xenix. Oh, the other thing you may have missed is that you must use the setcom command on the model II, before establishing the connection. Could your word size/stop/parity be incompatible ?? Hope this helps. -- Jim Carter (Sequoia Contact Lens,1355 11th Street,Reedley,CA,93654) {...!csufres!csuf3b!ic2020!jim} 209/638-3939, Fax 209/638-5433
