Does anyone know of any software to allow a Tandy portable disk drive for the Model 100 to be used with an MS-DOS computer. I seem to remember something from Traveling Software but can't seem to find it anymore. Also was there anything shareware / public domain ? I would also be interested in any programing info / specs. I currently have the original disk drive I (single sided 100k) but would be interested in info for either. I would like to adapt the drive to work with the new atari portfolio which is basically an MS-DOS machine. Any help would be appreciated.

The Traveling Software package that you describe is called LAP-DOS. Unfortunately, the LAP-DOS interface is the same as their LAP-LINK program, so hooking it to your Portfolio may not give you the results you want, that is, you can't really "mount" the drive, you can only trade files back and forth between your RAM disk on the Portfolio and the floppy drive. It would be really nice to have a TSR that would give you an extra drive mapping for your floppy, but LAP-DOS can't do that and I'm not aware of any public domain programs that do it either. I, too, would be interested in any programming info for the Portable Disk Drive series. I have a Tandy 200 with the 100K single sided drive that I use for a performance recorder (black box) on my race car. On a completely different note, I'm also looking for a better assembler for the 200 than the public domain one I have. They moved all of the service call locations, so Model 100/102 assemblers are useless on the 200. Does anyone know where I can get one? -- Wallace J.
