Does anyone out there have a copy of the Bible in a machine-readable
form? Or any pointers to same? We are interested in the King James
Version (primarily because it is public domain), but would also be
interested in other versions (particularly NASB) if there were some way
to aquire the rights to use them.
Also, does anyone have machine readable copies of the Bible in the
original languages in which it was written? Are these public domain?
Thanks in advance for any help, suggestions and pointers. If you have
anything like the above, we would be glad to send a tape or pay for the
cost of tape, shipping, etc.

Machine readable bibles are now available for a price. Look in the back of Byte or PC World sometime. It comes with an analysis package called (save me) "The Word Processor." A few years ago, I put out a call on the net for a copy and Karl Nyberg (then at MIT) said he had a Revised American Standard copy. I went up to MIT to pick it up and returned with an ANSI magtape with headers for each book but, alas, no text. The only other response I got (other than people wanting a copy when I found one) was from some guy who had a copy in Hebrew on punched cards. Not being able to read Hebrew, nor being overly fond of punched cards, I decided to decline his offer. -Ron
