[comp.sys.tandy] extended expanded memory on Tandy 1000 sx

gklimes@gmuvax2.gmu.edu (George Klimes) (05/28/90)

Someone mentioned that Micro Mainframe is the only remaining source for
an expanded memory board for the 1000SX. Well, I have another source.
The company is "Computer Mechanix" in Michigan. The specialize in Tandy
computers and sell all kinds of stuff for the 1000 and other models
(even high density floppy controllers for the 1000 series). Give them a
try at 800-448-1436.

                     Not so my friend!

Thanks to walt myers, I finally found this forum. Invisible EMS has 18
combination sockets for either 256 or 1 meg DIP; to correspond to 512K or
2 meg RAM. The quotation for $480 is: $299.95, $171 for2 Meg, Shipping, & COD.
It is the lowest cost true hardware EMS 4.0 board on the market. Evidently, it
is the only hardware EMS 4.0 board less than 10 inches in length. I'll be
supporting our product in this forum...Thank you for your interest.

You may write Vince at 76266.320@compuserve.com , but I don't know if he knows
how to use the internet bridge. The phone number for his company (he is VP), is
415-570-6017 (InvisiSOFT).

Some of the people over there even have reported that they managed to get
somewhere in the range of 704K using the backfilling method (whatever that
means B-).

Gary
