I have just acquired Windows 3.0 and if you like Mac-type interfaces, it's pretty good. However, I am running it on a 1000TL with CGA and without any memory expanders/extenders. Thus, it can only run in real mode instead of standard. The manual says that if you have extra memory, it's best if it is extended memory instead of expanded memory. So my question is: What is the best way to increase my memory to 1MB (or beyond) as I need 1MB to run in standard mode? For example, the onboard expansion: Can I put 256x4 chips in there as opposed to the 128x4 chips that RS sells? Or should I get an extended memory board? Or should I just forget the entire thing and get a "real" 286/386 machine? -- Brian Evans |"Momma told me to never kiss a girl on the first bevans at gauss.unm.edu | date...But that's OK...I don't kiss girls."
