Thanks to all who responded to my previous question regarding seek rates. It's funny some folks sent me patches to fix it, others stated that it already was using buffered seek. Now I've got another hard disk quest. I recently aquired a controller for a bournelli box. I've been told in the past that these are actually SCSI controllers, but diskutil only lets you specify a 10 or 20 meg device. I've also heard Bob Snapp has gotten large SCSI drives to work on the 6000 by making some patches to diskutil and z80ctl. The last time I talked to him on the phone he wanted $1600 for the software alone and then it wouldn't work with 3.02.xx at that, so aside from the price being way out of my range I don't want to go back to an earlier release of Xenix. Does anybody here know, and would be willing to share without a $1600 incentive, the secrets to running larger SCSI drives on a Tandy 6000?
