Thanks to everyone who responded to my posting. As you probably know, the documentation that comes with some Tandy products is on the skimpy side. There were a lot of good suggestions; since three people pointed out the identical problem I have concluded that the my Amdek Color II RGB monitor is either not receiving, or is incabable of interpreting, the color intensity signal from the Tandy Graphics Adaptor. Apparently this is carried by pin #6. Upon inspecting the connection between the board and the monitor I found that the spot for pin #6 is missing in the male part of the connection! Since I "borrowed" the monitor from work I can't really complain that I'm only getting 8/16 colors (instead of 8 colors plus 8 more intense colors). For when I upgrade to VGA do I have to purchase the Tandy 8-bit VGA card or will any old IBM-compatible board work? I saw one advertised by some vendor on Prodigy for $100 bucks!
