Anybody know what baud rates are possible for the modem port of the
WP-2 word processor? (I'm interested in using it as a very portable
terminal rather than as a word processor. Can't find a Radio Shack
store employee who knows the meaning of "baud rate"; and the
catalog doesn't even mention the number of characters in the display!)
Is there a better product for the purpose?

WP-2 manual says set to 300 baud for cable connection to aother computer, 8/N/1, Xon enabled, half duplex. for Modem connect, manual mentions 1200, 7/e/1, full duplex, Xon enabled, XModem error specs. Since you didn't ask, I'll tell you anyway that it comes with printer support for Tandy and IBM Proprinters. Bob M., PSU-Harrisburg -- ONly thing WP-2 doesn't have that I want is a calculator module. Wonder why they didn't include???

No calculator? {_They can put one on an "expansion" card, and charge you

The menu has all the stanard rates up to 9600. Don't know for sure
if they all actually work.

For word-processing, it appears to be 8 lines by 65 characters. The
actual display is longer than that; but the right margin isn't used by
the WP. You may get 75 for telecommunication, I don't have the right
cables to try it out yet (just got this beastie).
