I have a Tandy 1400LT. I was wondering if anyone has found a use for the "extra" 128k besides ramdisk. Is it possible to set this memory up as expanded or extended memory? Is it good for anything other than a very small ramdisk? How is this memory set up? _____________________________________________________________________________ RODNEY CAIN, Miami U, Oxford, Ohio, USA rkcain@miavx1.acs.muohio.edu _____________________________________________________________________________

I have a NEC multispeed that can configure a ram-disk. I can use the ram disk and floppy for LIM-EMS 3.2 expanded memory using a driver available from Softbyte (Vericomp). Here's the description from a PC-Journal Buyer's Guide. Vericomp- Virtual memory for programs designed to Lotus/Intel/Microsoft expanded memory specification. Uses fixed disk or RAM disk to simulate one or more expanded memory boards. Supports Lotus 1-2-3, Symphony, SuperCalc4 and Reflex. Adjustable size of Virtual Memory setup from 64KB to 4MB. IBM PC,XT,AT 512KB req. Cost $75 Vericomp 8825 Aero Dr., Suite 210 San Diego, CA 92123 619-277-0400; TLX:240-4481 I ordered mine several years ago. I don't know if the above is still valid. +Patrick

I am very interested in the Vericomp program mentioned as something to put into the extra 128k memory on Tandy 1400HD. I'm going to call later today, after phone rates drop. Another possible use: put command.com out there. Doing so would/will speed up i/o-thruput, as calls to command.com routines won't have to go to the hard drive. I know this is possible, 'cuz I read something somewhere about doing so, once upon a time. Just don't remember where. Putting Command.Com into a ram disk can be accomplished via a set of statements in either a Config.Sys file or Autoexec.Bat. Maybe both. Does anyone out there know what those statments should be?
