[comp.sys.tandy] hard disk on a 1000tl

spam@iastate.edu (Begley Michael L) (03/07/91)

I'm sure this has been beaten to the ground on this group, but I have here
before me:
 a tandy 1000tl
 an ST225 hard drive
a generic hard drive controller. I don't know the make but it's 8-bit,
has a WDC chipset and some Everex ROMs...(ver 3.92)

now...how do I make this all work nice-like?

I'm not familiar with these machines; I'm doing this for the owner of the
tandy (he's buying my hard disk if I can get it going...)

thanks a lot and I'm sorry if this topic is like beating a dead horse...

You should install it as you would in any other IBM PC/XT compatable.

There shouldn't be any trouble unless the controller is 'non-standard'. If
that is the case, then it usually won't work in most other clones either.
