hi, i have a Tandy 1000 TL (1988) that came with a 40 meg hard disk card (Segate ST-157R). last fall i experienced some problems where the HD would not spin up after powering up the computer. the battery was also failing and the unit could not keep the proper time and date. coincidentally both problems stopped after replacing the battery (strange). now several months later the hard card once again refuses to spin and if left on (power) the hard card seems to get very warm to the touch. i checked the conections and reseated the card several times. i also checked the voltage on the power connector, and everything seems to be in order. could someone venture a guess as to what might be causing this, or possable solutions of the problem. oh, one more thing, the heads were parked the last time it was powered down. thanks for any input on the subject. brian wybaillie blw@acsu.buffalo.edu
