[comp.sys.tandy] Project 16 Newsletter Bulletin

jmh@coyote.datalog.com (John Hughes) (06/16/91)

To All Project 16 Newsletter Subscribers:

Bad news - due to a rather noisy local thunderstorm, moondog (the home
machine for the newsletter) took a surge. The hardware survived, but
the root directory on the primary disk device did not. The last full
backup was done in December (yes, OK, I'm ashamed, alright?).

Good news - we have most of the original subscription requests, which
live on a seperate drive, and the file server is just fine. We can
probably reconstruct most of the subscription addresses. However, if
you want to continue to receive the newsletter it might be a good
idea to send a request in response to this posting, anyway. Also, if
you requested a subscription within the past couple of months, then
you will need to do it again. Sorry.

Bouncing addresses - A couple of folks have bouncing addresses, even
when entered verbatim from the newsgroup postings. ward@tsnews is
one. Ward, please send me an alternate address, if you have one.

Articles needed - Do you happen to know about things like device
driver design for the 16/6000 machines? Or perhaps some tips on using
the configuration kit? How about hardware speed-up techniques for the
z-80 motherboard? How does one go about adding additional serial ports,
beyond the stock number? From the mail we've received at moondog, it seems
that others would like to know about these things as well. An article,
even a short one, would be greatly appreciated.
