Hookay, let's try again... [ I'm running the risk of looking stupid here, because our news feed isn't stable yet. I may have missed an answer on my previous request. ] I have a TRS-80 Model 4, 128Kb, Graphics board, 2 disk drives. (40Tks DSDD, 80/40 Tks DSDD) Some time ago the display started acting up. It appears I'm the victim of a popular, but misguided, 'upgrade'. This upgrade notches up the processor speed a bit, and it includes the replacement of the Z80 by some NEC thingy. A known problem of this (for me irreversible) upgrade is that the CRT controller will blow up sooner or later. My best hope on restoration is the replacement of the complete mother- board with a more original one. Rumor has it that in the US Tandy still sells the Model 3 to Model 4 upgrade, and that includes a motherboard. Somebody I know across the pond is willing to send it to me, provided it indeed exists. *** Who can help me? Are there any employees of Tandy reading this newsgroup that can find out if article number 261123 (M3 -> M4 upgrade kit) is still available? My previous request got me one (1) reply; and that was from a Model 3 owner who would like to upgrade.
