I recently saw an ad from Sun claiming that several other companies, including HP, support NFS. Has HP announced official support for NFS ? Will it be supported on their 9000/320 workstations ? Yuval Tamir Internet: tamir@cs.ucla.edu UUCP: ...!{ihnp4,ucbvax,sdcrdcf,trwspp}!ucla-cs!tamir

>I recently saw an ad from Sun claiming that several other >companies, including HP, support NFS. NFS was demo'ed at the Uniforum Trade show (1/20/87-1/23/87) by HP on the 9000/3x0 and 9000/840. >Has HP announced official support for NFS ? Work is currently being done to make NFS a reality on the 9000/3x0 and on the 9000/840. Because the product is still under development, firm release dates are not available. >Will it be supported on their 9000/320 workstations ? Yes. The entire s300 family will support NFS, including the new 4MIP s350. Perry Scott ..{ihnp4,hplabs}!hpfcla!perry-s

HP has licensed NFS, but does not yet support it as a product. Stay tuned to see if it really does get released for HP-UX. -- Chan Benson {ihnp4 | hplabs}!hpfcla!chan Hewlett-Packard Company Fort Collins, CO As usual, HP has nothing to do with what I say here.
