The Education Department of the University of Chicago is currently fielding offers for our HP9000 series 500 (9040) machine. The available hardware: 1) The CPU. There are two CPU's; one fixed point and one floating point. The machine comes with 3.5 Megabytes of RAM, and one HP-IB card. 2) 2 8-channel multiplexers (pn 27128A). These are not modem capable ports, but are good for terminals or printers that can use a serial interface. 3) 1 IOP and I/O Expander with 6 ASI cards. This adds an additional 6 modem capable serial ports. 4) 1 20M Winchester drive with a 3 1/2" floppy drive. 4) 1 132M disk drive. (pn 7914P/R) This has a linus tape drive built in. To a certain extent, we are willing to sell these piece-meal, but the 132M disk drive could only be offered if the whole system was taken. Furthermore, if the offers received are not high enough, the system will not be sold at all.
