Could someone help me? I have an Integral PC with most of HP-UX in ROM (i.e. cc, cdb,...) but when you get HP-UX in ROM you don't get the HP-UX manuals. I am trying to communicate through the HPIB to a TEK scope and the Device I/O Libraries are no help. If anyone has some c or pascal source that demonstrates how to talk through the HPIB under HP-UX could you please e-mail it to me. I have ordered the manuals but I can't wait that long to get started (the boss wants some results SOON). Thanks in advance. Wally Wilinsky {ihnp4,pollux,dj3b1}!killer!blaise

Normally, I would have responded to your note by mail. I feel the need, however, to correct one statement in your note - you do indeed get HP-UX manuals with the Software Engineering ROM, albeit soft versions only. That is, you have the man(1) pages on diskette. Have you checked the hpib.4 man page? It's on disk VI in the cat4 directory. To save space, all the man pages have been run through compress(1) - uncompress(1) and zcat(1) are in the SE-ROM. Man pages for compress, et al., are on disk V. I hope this helps.
