I am looking for information about the relatively new HP-28C calculator. I am interested in hearing from those of you that have them and what you think about them. I am also curious to know how much these things go for in the US. In Canada, they are typically about $420 (Can) but being a student (or a business) will get you a 15% discount at some places. Any info would be greatly appreciated. -- UUCP : {allegra, clyde, decvax, seismo, utai}!watmath!orchid!cgwong ARPA : cgwong%orchid.waterloo.edu@csnet-relay.arpa CSNET : cgwong@orchid.waterloo.edu BITNET : cgwong@water.BITNET < Clint Wong > CDNet : cgwong@orchid.waterloo.cdn < University of Waterloo >

I don't have a 28-C but here is some information. The list price is $235, but there was in IEEE Spectrum (Feb. 87) an ad for $189.95 for the 28C and 105.95 for the infraRed Printer. Another ad (same issue) was $175 fot the 28C, $100 for the printer. The August 1987 issue of "Hewlett-Packard Journal" has 5 articles on the business consultant and the 28-C. They cover: Mechanical design of the HP-18C and HP-28C, symbolic computation on handheld calculators, and other details related to the functionality and internal design of the calculator. If you cannot find the issue in a library chech with Hewlett Packard Journal 3200 Hillview Av. Palo Alto, CA 94304 K. Konstantinides
