We have done a custom project for the Boeing Military
Airplane Company, which uses a number of HP9920U computers
to collect data from multiple 1553 buses. The catch here is
that Boeing developed the custom hardware interface to the
bus which does buffering, time stamping of data, and 1553
interrupt command masking. This work was all done under
an Airforce contract for the B1 program so I would believe
that anything done would be public domain. This means that
the government would not be charged, but other companies
could be charged to use what was developed. If you are
interested in what the details are you can contact me
directly.
