Hello world --- We are having trouble using an Esprit 6110 terminal with HP-UX 5.3 on a 9000/350. The problem is independent of the software we use (it occurs in vi as well as GNU emacs). The symptoms are that when using emacs, every now and then the system prints more than a window's worth of text wrapping around to the top of the window, and subsequently the cursor is not where emacs thinks it is. We've tried the standard terminfo entry in /usr/lib/terminfo/e/esprit, and we've tried translating the termcap entry we wrote locally and that works well for us in 4.3BSD (and we would like to use the same terminal configuration that works for that system). Alas, the problem remains. Could someone out there who has successfully connected this type of terminal to HP-UX please get in touch via e-mail? Thanks in advance...
